Audio-Technica ATH-ANC7B noise cancelling headphones

The Audio-Technica ATH-ANC7B QuietPoint® active noise-cancelling headphones can be used to eliminate the sound of aircraft engines while travelling, leaving you free to enjoy your music without distractions. These headphones can also be used to reduce traffic sounds or the background noise from busy offices and dorms.

Overall Rating:   4 out of 5 stars (4 / 5)

The ear cups on the headphones are large, well padded, fully surround the ear (circumaural) and are comfortable to wear for extended periods.  When not in use the headphones fold flat inside the carry case provided. There is also space inside the carrying case for extra equipment such as an iPod and/or extra batteries.

These headphones are capable of delivering clear high resolution sound with the NC function switched on, although the sound quality is not quite so good when the headphones are used with the noise canceling turned off. It should also be noted that at higher volumes there is a fair amount of sound leakage from the ear cups, which could cause annoyance to fellow passengers while travelling.  When the batteries run out the headphones still continue to work with the noise canceling turned off.

Here’s a Review From a Satisfied Owner

The headphones look nearly identical to the Bose QC15’s, but everything else is different. The audio quality is absolutely superior, crisper, cleaner and is near perfect tone with the right amount of bass (not over bearing). The build quality is arguably better and the design in my opinion is slightly better due to the can swivel mechanism and operation without batteries. Noise canceling abilities are only minutely less than that of the QC15’s. As far as sound leaking, no one around me complained. (F.White)
